from Home – Disassembly
Apple iMac
Step
1: Shutdown Mac
Issue shutdown on Mac.
Step
2: Keyboard and Mouse
Disconnect the keyboard and mouse (if not wireless) from the USB
ports on the back of the computer.
Place the keyboard and mouse aside to be aside to be taken
home. If you use a Wacom tablet, disconnect it from the USB port and the power supply. Put the tablet and power supply
aside to be taken home.
Step
3: Wacom Tablet (If applicable)
Disconnect the Wacom Tablet
from the USB on the back of the Mac. If you are using an adapter, the Wacom Tablet may be connected to the mini DisplayPort. Disconnect the Wacom
Tablet power adapter from the Surge Protector as well. Place the Wacom Tablet aside to be taken home.

Step
3: Network
Disconnect the network cable from the computer.
Leave the network cable draped on
the desk for reassembly when returning to the office.
Step
4: Computer Power
Disconnect the Mac power supply cable
from the Mac, and then disconnect the Mac power supply
cable from the surge protector
at the other end.
Place the Mac power supply cable aside to be taken home.
Step
5: Computer
All cables should now be
disconnected from the Mac. If any
cables are still connected, disconnect them now.
Place the Mac aside to be
taken home.
Step 6: Surge Protection
All cables should now be
disconnected from the surge protector. If any cables are still connected, disconnect then now. Unplug the surge
protector from the wall outlet.
Place the surge protector aside
to be taken home.
Step
7: Exit Checklist
Reference the Exit Checklist to ensure that all items are obtained and packed for
transport.
