Working from Home – Disassembly
Lenovo ThinkStation P300 Series

Step 1: Shutdown Computer and Monitor(s)

Issue shutdown on computer and then press the power button on the monitor(s).

Step 2: Monitor to Surge Protector

Locate the power cable on the back of the monitor. Follow the power cable to the other end and disconnect it from the surge protector only – leave cable connected to monitor. Repeat if using two monitors.

Step 3: Monitor to Computer

Locate the monitor cable on the back of the monitor. Follow the monitor cable to the other end and disconnect it from the computer only – leave cable connected to monitor. Repeat if using two monitors. If you are using an adapter to connect the monitor to your computer, disconnect it and set aside to be taken home.

Place the monitor(s) aside to be taken home.

Step 4: Keyboard and Mouse

Disconnect the keyboard and mouse from the USB ports on the back of the computer.

Place the keyboard and mouse aside to be taken home.

Step 5: Wacom Tablet

Disconnect the Wacom Tablet from the USB port and DVI port on the back of the pc. If you are using an adapter, the Wacom Tablet may be connected to the DisplayPort or Mini DisplayPort instead of the DVI Port. Disconnect the Wacom Tablet from the Surge Protector as well. Place the Wacom Tablet aside to be taken home.

Step 6: Network

Disconnect the network cable from the computer. Leave the network cable draped on the desk for reassembly when returning to the office.

Step 7: Computer Power

Disconnect the computer power supply cable from the computer, and then disconnect the computer power supply cable to the surge protector at the other end.

Place the computer power supply cable aside to be aside to be taken home.

Step 8: Computer

All cables should now be disconnected from the computer. If any cables are still connected, disconnect them now.

Place the computer aside to be taken home.

Step 9: Surge Protection

All cables should now be disconnected from the surge protector. If any cables are still connected, disconnect then now. Unplug the surge protector from the wall outlet.

Place the surge protector aside to be aside to be taken home.

Step 10: Exit Checklist

Reference the Exit Checklist to ensure that all items are obtained and packed for transport.
